Earth Team is moving its offices to the Berkeley Global Campus at the Richmond Field Station.
We are already fixing the new office, in Building 155, and we will be open for business July 11th, ready to launch our 2016-17 Sustainable Youth Internships at 8 East Bay public high schools. You are welcome to visit us!
We are excited to have a larger space, but especially to share this amazing project with all our students: the University of California Berkeley plans to build an international complex for higher education, research and technology not far from its main campus. The Berkeley Global Campus—a 5.5 million-square-foot project on 134 acres that the university owns in Richmond—would host academic programs from around the world and provide a living laboratory exploring innovative solutions to myriad human and environmental problems.
The project’s vision “is unabashedly bold,” UC Berkeley Chancellor Nicholas Dirks said during a presentation to the Academic Senate late October. “It will be a new form of international hub where an exclusive group of some of the world’s leading universities and high-tech companies will work side by side with us in a campus setting.”
We are hoping that the Berkeley Global Campus project will inspire collaborations with other groups and offer our student-interns a new opportunity to be part of the solution to the environmental problems of our time!
