IMG_2584On February 10th, Skyline Earth Team brought their first semester project to a close with a community outreach day at Dimond Park! The grassy area by Scout Hut was a perfect place for the team to set up their educational materials and their trivia game, which drew participants from all ages.  Oakland Tech Earth Team joined the party to lead a litter clean-up throughout Dimond Park and nearby Dimond Canyon trails.

On February 10th, Skyline and Oakland Tech interns partnered up with one another to do a litter clean up. While most were out scrounging for trash, a few Skyline interns had displayed bins, asking local dog owners questions about Dimond Park and their knowledge on water quality. Throughout the year, Skyline have been constructing water testings around Dimond Park, concluding whether or not the water quality is clean or contaminated. Skyline High Earth Team wrapped up the semester nicely with a successful, but windy, weekend event with the Oakland LPS Team

The group of young leaders spent their final weekend event at a training event at the Martin Luther King Shoreline, during which Skyline students trained Oakland LPS students how to test water and Oakland LPS students lead a training on shoreline litter assessments.
