Join us for FOSC’s & Earth Team’s annual Litter March, where we will work together to educate and inform the general public about the negative impacts of littering by engaging community members, students, and local organizations & businesses in a march to promote environmental awareness and reduce litter.

We will be meeting in the front of Josie de la Cruz park for a short introduction and welcome. The route will be approximately 2 miles starting and ending at the entrance of Josie de la Crus park....

Pinole Valley Earth Team is launching their first two school-wide events! Our goal is to educate and make a difference in our community. We plan to do so by hosting an invasive species removal event and creek clean up. During these past few months, Pinole Valley Earth team has acquired experience from various locations across the Bay Area, removing invasive species and conducting litter assessments. We are recruiting student volunteers and educating them on the importance of these events extensively through hands on experience.

This past week, San Lorenzo interns welcomed the amazing Prof. Joe McBride into the classroom as they continued there training and preparation for upcoming Tree Inventory with the Alameda Public Works Agency. Prof. McBride has been teaching Forestry classes for over 40 years at UC Berkeley and just recently retired, but that doesn’t stop him from sharing his excellence and experience with our youth!

The YES Conference is an annual conference of youth from all over the extended Bay Area. It was held in the Bay Area Metro Center in downtown San Francisco. The day had a schedule of 3 sessions of presentations and activities with a breakfast and lunch provided. Over five hundred students and educators attended the event. The YES Conference features middle and high school students from nine counties around the Bay Area: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.
